Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am licensed in Massachusetts and typically see clients in the Greater Boston Area. I expect to see clients in California starting this Spring!

  • IFS is a therapeutic approach that helps us explore the different “parts” of ourselves—common ones include the anxious part, the perfectionist, the people-pleaser, and the self-critic. These parts develop to protect us, but sometimes they take on extreme roles that create inner conflict and distress. Some parts can even get stuck in the past, frozen in time by earlier experiences. IFS helps us reconnect with these parts and offer them what they need to heal.

Through IFS, we learn to approach these parts with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. The goal is to strengthen your connection with your core Self—the calm, wise, and grounded part of you—so that healing can take place. In our work together, we’ll use mindfulness and guided exploration to understand what these parts need, helping you build more internal balance and self-trust.

  • Each person’s journey with therapy is different. Some of you may seek help with a specific problem or feeling, and others will seek long term support. My door is open to you for whatever it is you may need.

  • 45 minutes for individuals

    60 minutes for couples

  • Yes! I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation video call. Send me an email, and we’ll set one up.

  • Absolutely not! I’m an active therapist, and I’ll be engaging with you, challenging you, and guiding you through our sessions. Therapy is a space for reflection, insight, and growth, and I want you to leave each session having learned something new about yourself. At the same time, I believe you’re the expert of your own life, so our work together will always be collaborative—we’ll figure things out together.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients with PPO insurance plans can get partial reimbursement for therapy sessions.

    Here’s how the process works:

    1. Pay for sessions upfront – You’ll pay for each session out of pocket at the time of service.

    2. Receive a superbill – I’ll provide you with a superbill (a detailed invoice) that includes all the necessary information for insurance reimbursement.

    3. Submit to your insurance – You send the superbill to your insurance company (this can often be done through their online portal or by email).

Get reimbursed – If your plan offers out-of-network benefits, your insurance provider will reimburse you for a portion of the session cost, based on your plan’s coverage.

  • If you’re unsure about your out-of-network benefits, you can call your insurance provider and ask:

    • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

    • What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed?

    • Do I need to meet a deductible first? If so, how much?

    • How do I submit a claim for reimbursement?

While I can’t guarantee reimbursement, I’m happy to support you in navigating the process! Let me know if you have any questions.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me 48 hours' notice. If it’s less than 48 hours, or if you miss a session without letting me know, you’ll be charged the full session fee.

Let me know as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment, and we’ll find a new time that works. Thanks for understanding!
